A note from our family
The family behind Epping
There is a warmth about Epping that we are especially proud of. Our managers Benny and Simin share the mornings between them, and at least one of them is on the floor each day, greeting families by name at the door. Come in for a tour and meet the people your child would spend their days with. We think you will feel at home quickly.
The Billy-beet family
Long day care and kindergarten in Epping
Billy-beet Epping is a family-owned long day care centre and approved kindergarten at 882 Edgars Rd, Epping. We care for children from 6 weeks to 6 years across dedicated rooms for every stage, from infants and waddlers to 3 and 4-year-old kindergarten, and we open from 6:00 am to 6:00 pm for commuting families. Our Victorian Government approved kindergarten program runs inside long day care, so preschool age children build school readiness without needing a second drop-off.
Families join us from Epping, Epping North, Wollert, Lalor, Mill Park and South Morang, and we are only a few minutes from the Aurora estate and Pacific Epping. Our programming pairs Montessori practice with the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) and the National Quality Standard (NQS), delivered by qualified early childhood teachers and educators. Book a tour to see the rooms in action and to talk through fees and the Child Care Subsidy with us.
Montessori at Epping
What Montessori gives your child
Montessori shapes the whole day here. The rooms are calm and ordered, the materials are real, and our educators guide gently rather than interrupt.
Children pour their own drinks, help prepare food and pack their own bags, then carry that confidence home.
Uninterrupted learning cycles grow the focus children carry into school.
Mixed-age rooms teach patience, care for younger children and confidence with older ones.
Early literacy and numeracy grow through hands-on materials children can hold and understand.
Our credentials
Safety, in practice
How we keep children safe
Safety is the first thing most parents ask about, and it should be. Here is what it looks like in practice at Billy-beet, and we are glad to walk you through any of it at your tour.
We never use agency casuals. Every educator here is part of our own team, screened with a recent police check, a Working with Children Check and two reference checks before they ever meet your child.
Research on child safety points to one simple safeguard above most others: more than one adult present. Our 4-eyes practice staffs rooms with two educators wherever possible, and it is one part of our wider child safety approach.
We have had CCTV across our learning spaces from the start, because transparency and accountability are values we hold, not requirements we wait for. If anything is ever in question, we can sit down with you and review exactly what happened, and we support the government's current review into CCTV requirements for early learning.
We use windows and visible, open learning spaces wherever possible, promoting transparency and safety.
Children learn personal boundaries, safe and unsafe feelings, and who they can talk to, in an age-appropriate way, every term.
This centre is run by our family, and we take personal responsibility for the care inside it. If you ever want to raise something, you will always reach a real person.
Rooms & programs
Care and learning from babies to kinder
Each room has its own rhythm and the same foundations: safety, connection and Montessori programming that meets your child where they are.
Infants
Gentle settling, responsive care and close communication about sleeps, bottles and milestones, in the calm, ordered spaces Montessori is known for.
Waddlers
A room for new walkers: safe places to climb, push and carry, with steady hands and familiar faces close by.
Toddlers
Practical life skills, language and big-feeling support. Children pour their own water, help prepare food and learn to do things for themselves.
3-year-old Kindergarten
A gentle first kinder year within long day care: language, early maths and growing concentration through real Montessori materials.
4-year-old Kindergarten
Victorian Government-approved kinder inside long day care: early literacy, numeracy and the confidence that makes starting school feel natural. Uniforms included.
Fees & subsidies
Your real daily cost, explained simply
The advertised daily fee is not what most families pay. The Child Care Subsidy comes straight off your fees, and eligible kinder children may receive Free Kinder offsets on top. If anything is unclear, just ask. We are happy to go through it all with you.
*Your effective rate after the 5% CCS withholding, which Centrelink pays back to you at the end of the financial year.
The Free Kinder Offset applies to every child in our 3 and 4-year-old Kindergarten programs.
Estimates only, based on 2025–26 CCS settings and your Centrelink assessment. We will confirm your exact figures before you enrol.
From January 2026, eligible families get at least three subsidised days a fortnight, with no activity test to worry about. It makes starting care much simpler.
Eligible 3 and 4 year old kinder children receive Victorian Free Kinder fee offsets within long day care, worth around $2,000 a year off your fees.
First time using childcare? We will walk you through the myGov and Centrelink steps so your subsidy is active from day one.

A day at Epping
What your child's day looks like
New to childcare? Here is the rhythm of a typical day, so the unknown feels a little more known.
A calm welcome, breakfast for early starters and a settled start at each child's pace.
The heart of the Montessori day: children choose real, purposeful activities and build deep concentration.
Gardens, climbing, riding and digging. Big movement and fresh air every day, in almost all weather.
Fresh meals cooked onsite. Children set tables, serve themselves and help tidy up. It is practical life in action.
Sleep for those who need it, calm activities for those who don't. Each child rests at their own pace.
Project work, stories, music and outdoor play as the day winds down gently.
A proper handover from educators who know your child and can tell you how the day went.

Good to know
Common questions from families
Are you a franchise?
No. Billy-beet Montessori Epping is family owned and operated. The people responsible for the service are personally involved in its daily quality, safety and communication, and you are always welcome to speak with us directly.
Does my child need Montessori experience to start?
Not at all. Children join our prepared environments at their own pace, and educators guide them one-on-one into the routines. Most children settle into the rhythm within a couple of weeks.
What is your approach to child safety?
Our approach is practical and layered. We keep a minimum of two educators wherever children learn and play (the “4-eyes” approach), we have CCTV across the learning environments, and children take part in body safety and protective behaviours education throughout the year.
Can you help us understand CCS and Free Kinder?
Yes. We will walk you through the Centrelink and MyGov steps, and explain how the Child Care Subsidy and Free Kinder offsets apply to your family. Bring your questions along to the tour and we will go through the fees together.
What happens at a tour?
You will see every room, meet the educators, watch the program in action and talk through your child’s routine, fees and availability with Benny. Tours take about 30 minutes, and children are very welcome.
Do you support children with additional needs?
Yes. We work with each family to understand routines, communication and support plans so every child can participate safely and meaningfully.
What should my child bring?
A change of clothes, a comfort item for rest time, and a hat. Meals are chef-prepared onsite, and kinder uniforms are included at no cost.
