In Billybeet childcare and kindergarten, Our philosophy is:

to support children’s learning and development to their full potential

Our Epping childcare and kindergarten centre, caters for children up to five years old, and we have a vacation care program that caters for children from prep to grade 6.

We are committed to providing a developmental and educational program which caters for each child’s individual needs, abilities and interests by following the Early Years Learning Framework. Our program will continue to develop as we use the relationships children have with their families and communities, working in partnership with parents, to ensure each child’s knowledge, ideas, culture, abilities and interests are the foundation of our programs.

We understand it is difficult for parents to choose the right care for their children. The philosophy of Billybeet Child Care & Kindergarten has been developed with the involvement of both staff and families. We have an open door policy – you and your family are welcome to visit our service at any time.

You are most welcome to visit and view the centre in operation – our Coordinator is more than happy to meet with interested parents to discuss the centre programs and answer any questions.

Our Programs

Infant Program
  • Respectful Care: Each infant is assigned a primary caregiver to ensure strong, secure relationships.
  • Exploration of Senses: Infants are encouraged to explore their surroundings using all their senses, with a focus on building trust and emotional security.
  • Family Partnerships: Morning and evening check-ins promote consistent communication between families and caregivers.
Toddler Program
  • Child-Led Learning: Toddlers engage in activities driven by their own interests, guided by thoughtful planning and documentation from our educators.
  • Creative Expression: Opportunities for art, music, and movement allow toddlers to explore their creativity.
  • Social Growth: Structured and unstructured activities help toddlers develop social skills, resilience, and independence.
Pre-Kinder Program
  • Project-Based Learning: Inspired by children’s questions and curiosity, our
    educators facilitate in-depth explorations of topics that intrigue them.
  • Collaboration: Children work in small groups to share ideas, solve problems, and create meaningful projects.
  • School Readiness: Our program gradually introduces structure to help children prepare for formal schooling, while still prioritising hands-on learning.

Kindergarten Program

We proudly offer two funded kindergarten options :

Long Day care Kindergarten Funded Program
  • Full-day program with extended hours to support deeper exploration and creativity.
  • Ample time for community outings and collaborative learning projects.
  • Flexible scheduling to accommodate families’ needs.
Sessional Kindergarten Funded Program
  • Traditional kindergarten structure with shorter, focused sessions.
  • Opportunities to build relationships and engage in community-focused activities.
  • Structured schedule to help children prepare for school.

Child Care Subsidy

Assistance to help you with the cost of child care.

To get Child Care Subsidy (CCS) you must:

  • care for a child 13 or younger who’s not attending secondary school, unless an exemption applies
  • use an approved child care service
  • be responsible for paying the child care fees
  • meet residency and immunisation requirements.

Allowable Absences

The CCS covers 42 absences per financial year without the need for a specific reason. Additional absences for a specific reason can be applied for through your centre, but may require proof through documentation. Please read here, or talk to us about additional CCS absences.

It is our policy to count any public holidays that fall on permanently booked days as absences. You can access your child’s absence record through your online statement by selecting ‘View Child Care Details and Payments’ on your Centrelink online account.
